This morning, once my oldest daughter was dressed, she went into the back garden to look at the spider webs on the lawn. They were evenly spaced across the grass and wet with dew. She gave me her verdict that they were pretty.
Walking her to the school bus, she told me one of her school friends had said that when the spider webs are covered in dew it means autumn is coming, and there was a giant slug on the slide too. She paused a moment, then a with a drawn out middle syllable said “Spiders are amazing”.
